Retirees in all United States who have not yet received their April Social Security payment should be on the lookout. Very soon, the Social Security Administration will be sending out the last of this month’s retirement checks, so it is possible that you will receive it. To find out if you will receive this new benefit, just check the calendar.
The last group to receive a Social Security retirement check has nothing to do with retirement type or year of birth. Many beneficiaries think that when Social Security payments are sent depends on these two factors, but that is not the case. If our objective is to know when we will receive the pensioner’s payment, we must take into account two other personal data.
These two pieces of information are the date of retirement on the one hand and the birthday on the other. But the year of birth is not important, nor is the month. The really important piece of information is simply the day of the month. Knowing this information we can mark on the calendar the day we will receive the check. The next payment will arrive in just a few hours and you could receive it.
Last Social Security check in April
The Social Security Administration will send out the last payment for the month of April within a few hours. To be exact, the payment will be sent on the 26th day of April 2023. But beware of thinking that all beneficiaries with an accepted benefit are eligible to receive the check. The retirees who are in the last group are the only ones who will be able to receive it.
To be in the last group, your birthday must be between the 21st and 31st of the month, both days included. So if your birthday is between those two days you can know that tomorrow you will have the money in your pocket. Of course, it is also important to have applied for the benefit after 1997 in order to get this payment.
If our pensioner’s pension is prior to 1997, the payment will arrive on a different day. In fact, you should already have it, since the payment for this group of retirees was sent on the 3rd of April, being the first of the month, as is usual in these cases.
What can I do if my pensioner’s pension is late?
There may be some delays in the payment schedule. However, these delays are not usually the fault of the Social Security Administration. The organization of this federal system sends payments on different days to groups of retirees to avoid delays and overcrowding.
So if you’re thinking your payment is late, it may not be the Administration’s fault. If after three days from the day of payment you have not received the money it is time to make a claim.
In order to claim the payment you must first contact the bank. Sometimes the payment arrives later due to problems with the bank itself. So contact them first to ask if there is a problem. If they do not give you a solution, talk directly to the Social Security Administration, either through one of their offices or by phone.
Remember, if you activate Direct Deposit, you will not have to wait for payments from the Administration to arrive. Likewise, any other federal payments, such as the IRS Tax Refund, will arrive immediately as well.
