What should I do now to get Social Security benefits in the future?

This is the minimum requirement to receive a Social Security retirement check

Can I increase my Social Security check by working after retirement?

The Social Security Administration will send out new payments next February for United States users with a disability benefit. These payments are nothing more than the SSDI cheques that Social Security pays each month to beneficiaries.

Therefore, if you are a retiree with a disability benefit it is in your best interest to know on what day you will receive the benefit next month. In February 2023, SSDI will, as usual, reach its users on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month. This means that depending on which group we belong to, we will get the benefit on one day or another.

So it is important to know perfectly which group we belong to and on which day we will receive the Social Security retirement benefit. The date of the birthday is the key to determining the day on which any user with an SSA cheque will collect his or her dollar amount.

SSDI Calendar for Social Security Users

SSDI checks will be sent to users with an accepted benefit on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of the month. Each day is a day for retirees who have one of the disability benefits. The exact schedule of payments in February is as follows:

  • February 8th. Day on which retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month are paid.
  • February 15th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month receive their cheque.
  • February 22nd. Any disability retiree with a benefit born between the 21st and 31st of the month receives their cheque on this day.

And remember that it does not matter the type of retirement as well as the month of birth. The important thing to be able to collect on these days is to take into account the exact day of the birthday in addition to having an accepted benefit.

How to receive your disability cheque quickly?

When it comes to cashing the Social Security disability benefit cheque we have two options.

  • Direct Deposit.
  • Bank Account Deposit.

The second one is a little slower than the first method. In order to receive your Social Security cheque as quickly as possible, you must have Direct Deposit activated. This method is immediate, so any SSA check will reach our pocket instantly.

If we have a bank account, we will be able to receive the cheque in the same way, but it may take up to 3 days to arrive. You can choose the method you like the most, since you will receive the cheque on the established day.

Can we collect disability and retirement pensions?

The Social Security Administration grants up to 2 different cheques to Social Security users. On the one hand, we have the cheque for disability and on the other hand, the cheque for retirement due to age. Both cheques are not compatible in most cases, since they are actually the same benefit.

Thus, if we have a disability benefit, we can apply for the retirement benefit when we reach the age of 62. However, our monthly cheque may not increase. We should check all the details beforehand, since if we apply for one we will cancel the other.
