If you have not yet gotten your United States Social Security retirement benefit you still have time to cash up to 2 different checks in December. These two checks are for different benefits, which is why we may get a check in the next week.
If it were the same benefit, it would be impossible to collect both payments, but since they are different Social Security checks, the same citizen can get both payments. In addition, there are only two days difference between these two payments, so before the end of the year we can have a good amount of extra money in our checking account.
In order to get next week’s payments, it is essential to fulfill certain conditions. If we do not meet them we will not be able to get the payments. Even so, it is possible to receive only one of the payments, so pay attention because even if you don’t get two Social Security checks, you may get one.
FIRST SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT DUE NEXT WEEK
In the next week the Social Security Administration will send two different checks to eligible retirees. The first of these checks is none other than the retirement check. In order to get this retirement check we must meet a couple of requirements.
The first of these requirements has to do with the year of retirement and the second has to do with the day of birth. To be exact these are the two mandatory conditions:
- To have retirement since after 1997.
- To have your birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
We do not need to meet any other requirement for the Social Security Administration to send us the payment for that day. Although it is true that in order to get the payment in the same week it is advisable to activate Direct Deposit as a payment method.
SECOND SSA PAYMENT: SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME EXTRA
The second of the payments we may get next week is actually an advance payment for the year 2024. The January 2024 Supplemental Security Income payment will arrive in December 2023 due to a timing irregularity.
In the event that we have SSI accepted, the Social Security Administration will send the payment to our bank account on December 29th. Whether or not we get it on that day will depend on whether we have Direct Deposit activated, just like the retirement check.
Therefore, we already know what the requirements are for collecting two different payments in the last week of December. After that, we will not have any more payments until January, so we will have to wait to be able to receive a new benefit again.
