All Social Security pensioners in the United States are in luck. In a very short time they will receive their benefit amount. The Social Security Administration will send the first of the payments in just a week or so. This means it will arrive in time for many retirees to cover their expenses for the month.
However, not all retirees and not all people with disabilities will be paid in this first installment. The Social Security Administration will send the money to only one group of people. The rest of the payments will be divided into two other groups. To find out which group you are in, just look at the day of your birth. Are you in this first group?
Who receives the first Social Security payment?
People who receive Social Security are divided into three groups when it comes time to receive their Social Security payments. Thus, the three groups have the difference in the day of birth. Therefore, the SSA will not send benefit money on the same day to everyone. If a beneficiary was born on the 4th day of the month he or she will collect earlier than a pensioner born on the 23rd.
Even so, there are no worries about payments. All beneficiaries will receive payment every month. And since the Social Security Administration announces the dates, you won’t have to worry about the day, as you will know exactly when you will receive your benefit. These are the dates of the next payments:
- September 14: Second Wednesday of the month. People born between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their benefit on this day.
- September 21: Third Wednesday of the month. The Social Security Administration sends payments to people with birthdays between the 11th and 20th on this day.
- September 28: Fourth Wednesday of the month. Last pension payment of September. This payment is for people born between the 21st and 31st.
