How Much Money Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Means
Each case is completely individual and Social Security pays each person the money they need to live on. This year 2022 that money increased to a maximum of $841 a month. But that doesn’t mean that everyone who gets SSI will get that. Only people who really need it will have access to the maximum amount of this benefit.
The minimum, on the other hand, that Social Security pays SSI to adults with disabilities, children with disabilities, the blind, and the elderly is $621 per month. However, as we said earlier, not everyone is eligible for this benefit. You can apply for it, but that does not guarantee that you will receive it.
Who is eligible for Social Security benefits?
Adults with disabilities, children with disabilities, retired elderly people and blind people. But there is a limit, of course. Collections are made every 1st of the month, although if it falls on a weekend or holiday you will always receive it on the previous day that does not fall in any of these classifications. Therefore, on July 1, people will receive SSI from Social Security.
