Across the United States there are millions of retirees who collect a monthly Social Security check. Each of these retirees belongs to a group established by the Social Security Administration to cash a check on one day or on a different day.

There are three groups in all, and each group is made up of retirees of all ages and from all walks of life. So whether you have a Social Security disability benefit or an age retirement benefit, it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters in determining which retiree group you belong to is your date of birth.

Each retiree group is made up of pensioners with different dates of birth. Thus, the day of the birthday is the day that marks the day of the Social Security retirement payment. So we have up to three different groups of pensioners, regardless of the reason for retirement, as we have named above.

Therefore, there are the following groups of retirees:

  • Retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
  • Pensioners born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
  • Social Security users born between the 21st and 31st of the month.

The first of these groups of retirees has an advantage over the other, so if you were born between the 1st and 10th of a month, you will be interested to know what that advantage is. Were you born between these days?

Advantage for Social Security retirees born 1st-10th of a month

Before we move on to the main advantage of being born between the 1st and 10th of the month. Regardless of our day of birth we will always collect our monthly Social Security check.

That said, we emphasize that the main advantage of having our birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month and collecting a Social Security check is the day of collection. The group of these retirees is always the first group to collect the benefit every month. To be exact, they always cash their check on the second Wednesday of the month.

This is a great advantage because they are the first beneficiaries to get their monthly check from Social Security. Even so, the rest of the retirees get paid the same way, although in later weeks. This may be a setback for some retirees, but it is something that cannot be changed.
