With tax season closer to the end than the beginning, any United States citizen should already be thinking about sending their Tax Return to the IRS at once. That is in case you haven’t already done so, as there are Americans who are still thinking about whether or not to do so.

The IRS accepts the submission of the Tax Return since January 23rd. Knowing this, it is easy to calculate that a large part of Americans have already sent their taxes to the IRS today. However, there are still many who have not sent it, something that can be a problem for many.

And we say it can be a problem for many because not sending in taxes on time can result in various penalties. We may have to pay fines and penalties to the IRS the year we don’t send in our taxes on time. Even so, we still have the opportunity to send them in and even apply for an extension of the tax season.

Until when can I request an extension of time from the IRS?

The deadline for both submitting our Tax Return to the IRS and requesting an extension of time is April 18th. On this day, the IRS will officially stop receiving documentation. However, there are still three weeks to do so. This means that we have plenty of time in case we want to send the Tax Return on time.

The sooner we send the Tax Return, the sooner we can receive our Tax Refund. This is true in case we are entitled to get this stimulus check from the IRS. In short, sending our taxes on time has many advantages.

How to receive the Tax Refund quickly?

The fastest way to receive our Tax Refund is to perform two specific actions. The first one is to complete all the documentation digitally. This will speed up the process, since the IRS will not have to receive the documents through snail mail.

The second action is to activate Direct Deposit. With this we will get that any payment from the government, not only from the IRS, will appear immediately in our bank account. Even so, remember that the IRS will take about 21 days after receiving the Tax Return to send the Tax Refund.

In the case of not activating Direct Deposit, the physical stimulus check could take about 16 weeks. It all depends on factors external to the IRS, since it will send the check and then we will receive it via snail mail.
