Many Americans think that Social Security disability payments always arrive at United States homes on the same day. That is not the case, as each group of retirees receives a check with their benefit on a certain day.
The Social Security Administration divides disability benefit recipients into several groups. And these beneficiaries in turn share a group with age and other retirees. In other words, having a disability benefit does not determine which day we will cash our check.
The groups of beneficiaries who receive their monthly benefit are divided according to their date of birth. And it does not matter the year of birth as such, but the day of the month in which that disabled beneficiary was born. To all of this we must also add other extra information to determine on what day you will collect your check.
The year of retirement is also critical in determining when we will receive a Social Security benefit. If a disability retiree has had their checks since before 1997 they will not cash the next check, but must receive their money on another day.
What is the requirement to cash the next disability benefit check?
As is customary with Social Security Administration payments, the next disability check will arrive next week. The collection day for this benefit will be April 12. This is the first of the payments for retirees after 1997. If our benefit started before this time, the payment is made on a different day.
So if you have a disability benefit, age retirement or some other reason, next 12th you could cash check. However, there is one requirement to be met. This one requirement is to have been born between the 1st and 10th of the month. In addition, you must not have applied for a retirement check before 1997, as we have already mentioned.
In the case of having applied for our benefit before that year, the check should have arrived on the 3rd day of April. This is usually the case, except in months in which the 3rd day of the month is a weekend or holiday. Since the 3rd of April is neither, the disability check has already been mailed to the beneficiaries.
In order to receive check on the same day of mailing, disability retirees must activate a particular payment method. This is Direct Deposit, which is the fastest and most efficient of all. The other way to receive this money is through a wire transfer. This other method is also efficient, but it is much slower, as it can take up to 3 days for the money to appear.
When is the next Social Security payment in April?
As every month, in April the second Social Security payment will be made on the third Wednesday of the month. This means that in April it will be on the 19th.
In order to receive your check on April 19, you must be born between the 11th and the 20th of the month, so if your birthday falls between those days, you will receive the check in your bank account on the 19th.
