When the Social Security Administration sends out new retirement checks each month to beneficiaries in the United States, it does so in different batches to different groups. There are a total of four benefit payment days, and whether or not you get each check depends on which group of retirees you belong to.
Later this week, the Social Security Administration will send out the first of the retirement checks. And just by belonging to a specific group of retirees we will be able to collect the check. The payment day will be April 3rd and it will be the first of the checks for the whole month. However, we must take into account that if our retirement is later than a specific year, we will not receive this payment.
Which beneficiary collects the April 3rd Social Security payment?
In order to get the April 3rd payment in 2024 we will need to fulfill a requirement. In addition to this mandatory requirement, there is a different requirement that causes us to get the check as soon as possible.
The mandatory requirement is to have applied for Social Security retirement prior to May 1997. Any and all retirees prior to that date will be able to get payment on April 3rd.
At the very least, the Administration will send out a check on that day, but getting the Social Security payment on the same day of mailing will depend on the collection method chosen. That collection method is Direct Deposit, because if we have it active we can get the payment immediately on April 3rd.
More Social Security payments in April 2024
After this April 3rd payment we will have 3 more Social Security checks this month. These payments will be on April 10th, April 17th and April 24th. Depending on certain requirements, we may be able to collect the payment earlier or later.
In the case of April 10th, the payment is only for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of any month. In addition, it is also mandatory to have applied for the benefit after 1997.
On the other hand, on April 17th, the Administration will send another Social Security check to retirees. In order to collect this check, it is mandatory to have the benefit since after 1997 and to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month.
Finally, April 24th will be the collection day of the Social Security check for retirees after May 1997. In addition, you must also have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
