Citizens who have a Social Security benefit in the United States may get an extra payment before the end of the year. This extra payment is a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit and it is possible to get a check early.
In order to get a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment early, a couple of conditions must be met. And it should be clear that not all Social Security beneficiaries can receive this payment, since it is necessary to meet all the mandatory requirements, but having a retirement benefit does not mean having one of these checks at the end of the year.
So the government has announced in the official schedule of Social Security payments that the extra SSI check will come early. This check actually belongs to the year 2024, but it will appear earlier in the bank account of Americans who are eligible to get it. All other citizens could also get the payment, but not at that time, but a little later.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE EXTRA SSI PAYMENT?
In order to be able to collect the extra SSI payment before the end of 2023, we must take into account that two requirements must be met. These two requirements are fundamental, so we cannot get the payment if we do not meet them first.
On the one hand, we must have the Supplemental Security Income accepted in advance. The check cannot be in the process of being accepted, but must be 100% accepted. Only then will we be able to collect the payment. If we have the check for Supplemental Security Income accepted, we have already fulfilled the first requirement.
The second requirement is to activate Direct Deposit. This is the fastest and most efficient method of collection, so the moment the Social Security Administration sends the check, we will be able to enjoy the money in our bank account and use it for whatever we need.
WHAT WILL BE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF THIS EXTRA SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK?
The Supplemental Security Income payment will be paid on December 29th and will not have a maximum amount like the previous SSI checks in 2023. The maximum payment for this benefit will be $943. This is because it is not actually a check pertaining to 2023, but to 2024.
Since it is a 2024 check it actually has this coming year’s COLA included. So the maximum payment will go from $913 to $943. In addition to that, we should also keep in mind that no such payment will arrive in January of next year, as the Administration will send all checks on the 29th day of December.
The instant the payment appears in your bank account you can make use of it without any problems. So don’t worry about making use of this benefit and use the SSI money on whatever you need to buy before the year 2023 is over.
