Only these Americans will get the Social Security Disability Income on April 3rd

Medicare is one of the most useful services in the United States. This part of Social Security makes it possible for people over 65 and some people with disabilities to receive medical services without paying more money. Not all medical services are covered by this program, although many are covered.

Also, it is easy to find out what services Medicare does not cover. This part of Social Security does cover doctor visits, hospitalization, and more. On the other hand, if you want to have the most extra and special services, you will have to pay for them out of your own pocket. Let’s take a look at the services that Medicare does not include.

Social Security Medicare does not include these services

Social Security Medicare does not include the following medical services:

  • Long-Term Care (also called custodial care).
  • Most dental care
  • Eye exams related to prescribing glasses
  • Dentures
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Acupuncture
  • Hearing aids and exams for fitting them
  • Routine foot care

Thus, if you need some of these services, you will have to pay for them directly from your Social Security benefit. Also, keep in mind that most of them are not services that are an everyday expense for individuals, so they should not be too much of a problem.

Who can apply for Medicare?

People who are retired at age 65 can apply for Medicare. Because of this, retirees will not need to pay for most medical services. A hospitalization can be too expensive for a retiree on an average benefit, so having that covered is a break for Social Security pensioners.

You don’t need to do anything extra to apply for your Medicare, as it is an automatic process that is added to your Social Security when you turn 65. Anyway, remember that you can contact your local office for help if you see any problems with this medical benefit.
