The October Social Security Disability benefit payment schedule is now available in full for United States residents with Social Security Disability benefits.
So if you have a disability check you can already know on which day in October you will collect the new payment of up to $3,627. It will also be the last payment before you know the new COLA increase for next year 2024.
The maximum payment of 3,627 will no longer be available and will move to an even larger check starting in January of next year. But, for the time being, we have to stick with this maximum benefit that will arrive in just a few days. This disability check, however, is only for a group of retirees.
It is mandatory to meet some requirements if we want to get this payment in the next few days. In the case of meeting the requirements we only have to wait a little while to be able to collect the benefit. Otherwise, the Social Security disability payment will arrive on another day in October.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEXT SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY BENEFIT IN OCTOBER
The day of the next payment will be October 11th. On this day, Disability beneficiaries will cash a new check as long as they meet the mandatory requirements. There is no way to cash the check if we do not meet these requirements.
It is really important to keep in mind the eligibility criteria. If we are not part of the group, it is not that we will not receive a check during October, but we will get the benefit on a different day.
In order to receive the new check, it is mandatory to have a disability benefit since after 1997, as well as to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month. This will make us part of group 2 who receive the Social Security benefit during the month.
The rest of the retirees will get their checks in the next few weeks. In total, the Administration will send two checks per month in the month of October. These checks will arrive on the 18th and 25th of the month.
WHO WILL COLLECT THE OTHER TWO OCTOBER SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS?
It is important to note that the type of benefit does not matter in collecting any of these Social Security checks. Whether it is disability, age retirement or some other reason, we will still get a check in the end.
The important thing to be part of the group is to meet the requirements and the type of benefit is not part of the eligibility list. In the case of the October 18th check, only retirees born between the 11th and 20th will receive payment. Likewise, it is also mandatory to have the benefit since after 1997.
The October 25th disability check is only for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month. Likewise, it is necessary to have the benefit accepted after 1997.
HOW WILL COLA 2024 AFFECT DISABILITY BENEFITS?
Each of the Social Security disability benefit checks will have an increase starting in January of next year. This means that the $3,627 maximum on these types of checks will cease to exist. Instead, the maximum payment will go to $3,743 per month.
This COLA will cause each and every check that the Social Security Administration will send out to go up. Therefore, Supplemental Security Income checks, Social Security retirement payments and various others will also see the increase.
Even SNAP payments may see an increase starting in October of this year. Unlike Social Security payments, SNAP payments see the monthly increase as early as October thanks to COLA 2024.
