Social Security disability benefits are arriving in United States households today for millions of Americans. And this is both good news and, at the same time, it’s a bad thing because today, December 20th, the payment arrives later than usual.
While it is true that the payment apparently does not arrive later than usual, the truth is that beneficiaries in the third group of Americans with a disability benefit usually get the payment a few days earlier. The 20th day is very late for them, who are usually paid on the 15th or 16th of the month.

Only retiree group 3 gets today’s December 20th Social Security disability check. This group is made up of beneficiaries with specific characteristics. As for the type of benefit, it does not matter why we have the check. The important thing is to have the payment regardless of whether it is for disability, age retirement, or other reason.
If we have had the check since after 1997 and our day of birth is between the 11th and 20th of the month, we can get the check on this 20th day of December. You do not have to be born in December to get the December check. The month of birth does not matter in determining the day on which we will receive the benefit.
What matters is the year of retirement and the exact day of birth, regardless of the year of birth or the month. So our date of birth can be in May and we can collect disability payments for December and the rest of the year without any problems.
GET AN EXTRA SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK BEFORE THE END OF 2023
Supplemental Security Income recipients can get an extra Social Security check before the end of 2023. To get this check we must have the SSI benefit accepted beforehand, regardless of whether it is for Disability or for being over 65.
If the check is accepted, all we have to do is activate Direct Deposit. This collection method facilitates the arrival of the money, since it is instantaneous and immediate. So we will not have to wait a single day to get the day.
The Social Security Administration will send this payment to beneficiaries with and without a disability on December 29th. If we activate Direct Deposit we will get the money in the year 2023, which is an extra payment over the normal months.
