On February 14th, a group of United States citizens will collect their next Social Security Disability Insurance payment. This group is the second group to collect the benefit each month. So if you are in group 2 retirees you will be able to get this next Wednesday’s payment. It will be the second Wednesday of the month, but it is actually the third week.
And the fact is that the payments for this group of retirees arrive a little later than usual in the month of February. However, this does not mean that the beneficiaries of this benefit will not arrive on time. The collection day is the same as usual, but it is a little later due to a slight irregularity in the calendar. All Americans with a disability benefit will get their February check.
There is no reason to worry about getting this payment or not. If we have the benefit accepted, the payment will come. But what we do have to keep in mind is that it might come a little later, simple as that. So if you belong to this group of retirees you will be able to enjoy the payment very soon. If not, the disability check will arrive in the next few weeks.
Group of Disability beneficiaries with a check on February 14th
The retirees who will get the payment will be those who belong to group 2. This group is made up of Americans with specific characteristics. There are two requirements to be part of this group.
In this sense, to be able to get this benefit we have the following two requirements:
- Be between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Have a disability or other retirement benefit from May 1997 onwards.
Any retiree who does not meet these requirements will receive the benefit on another day of the month. There are a total of four days when the Social Security Administration sends out checks. So if you get your payment on one day or another, it is because you are part of a particular group.
Remember that the requirements for collecting Social Security sooner or later do not include the type of benefit. So whether you have a disability check, a retirement check, or for any other reason, you will still get a payment if you meet the requirements.
Remaining Social Security payments in February 2024
After the February 14th payment, we can still get the retirement benefit for this month. Social Security will pay the Disability check on two other days different from the rest of the beneficiaries. These two days will be the 21st and 28th of February.
In order to collect the check on February 21st we must meet two requirements. The first requirement is to have a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month. The second requirement is to have a retirement benefit since May 1997.
Finally, February 28th is the collection day for Group 4 Disability retirees. This group consists of Americans with birthdays between the 21st and 31st. Likewise, it is also mandatory that they have had a check since after May 1997, as is the case with the other two groups.
All pre-May 1997 retirees collected their benefit on the 2nd day of February. Therefore, this group can no longer get a different benefit for the remainder of February 2024.
