Smartphones with Android operating system have a wide range of functions, many of which are unknown to the user. Some of them allow you to perform many activities on the phone without the need to use your hands and just by using voice commands.
This function is useful for when we are driving, have wet hands or just do not want to write. To use your Android phone hands-free, you will need to activate a Google Assistant. Pay attention, below we will show you everything step by step.
Activate the Google Assistant
- To start with the function, the first thing to do is to enter the Google application of our mobile. It is important to tell you not to confuse the app with the Google Chrome browser.
- When you have entered the application, click on the top right where your profile picture is located.
- Then, go to the “Settings” section and after that choose the section that says “Google Assistant”.
- We will press the first configuration option that says “Hey Google and Voice Match”.
- After that, it will only remain to activate where it says “Ok Google” and that’s it.
How this Android trick works
You will simply have to say the words “Hey Google” so that your phone detects that you want to perform a function and requests what you want to ask the Google assistant on Android. Some of the functions that the voice assistant performs are:
- Send WhatsApp messages to your contacts: “Hey Google, send a WhatsApp message to ….”.
- Answering and making calls to your contacts: “Hey Google, call ….”.
- Ask to take a picture: “Hey Google, take a selfie”.
